Google trends and insight comparison: Oracle WebCenter, IBM WebSphere, MS Sharepoint, Liferay, Drupal, and Jive

Why limit my off-beat product comparison to just indeed.com jobs, when google is a great resource for trends too!

Below are 4 charts showing relative trends for each product.
The 1st chart comes from google trends.
The 2nd is from google insights, and shows relative interest for searches within the category Computers & Electronics.
The 3rd is also from google insights and shows growth relative to the trend of the Computers & Electronics category.
The 4th chart comes from google insights and shows growth relatives to the trend of the Enterprise Technology sub-category of Computers & Electronics.
  • In contrast to the jobs comparison the Sharepoint trend is mundane.  I wonder what is with the big downward spikes at the end of each year?
  • 2004 was the glory days for WebSphere? Seems that each chart shows WebSphere to be sinking.
  • Drupal and Liferay look solid
  • The charts for Oracle WebCenter and Jive are a bit spastic.  I'm guessing they have lighter volume which contributes to volatility.

MS Sharepoint

IBM WebSphere

Drupal

Liferay

Oracle WebCenter

Jive
